More Ideas than Time ~ Podcast#2
Hey! We have a title for the Podcast! Olivier and I want to thank everyone that gave us great name suggestions, but our first suggestion stuck. The name is ‘More Ideas than Time’ and is inspired by the fact that Olivier and I tend to be full of ideas with not enough time to execute on them all. I’m betting many of the blog readers and podcast listeners can sympathize with that!
If your new here to the blog…welcome. If you are long time readers…. welcome back. Last week Olivier Blanchard and I started what is now known as the More Ideas than Time Podcast. We are discussing social media, business, enterprise 2.0 and addressing listener questions. We welcome your feedback and suggestions.

Great second podcast guys. Really got a lot out of the discussion. I like where it is going. A lot more nuts and bolts than others, and I like the fact that you outline the podcast on your blog. I’m often driving or doing something while listening to a podcast, and it’s not always practical to take notes. So really like that aspect.
Had to laugh on the part where you said the example can’t be “Dell or Comcast” I’ve often gotten frustrated that everyone points to the same three or four successful cases, among them Dell and Comcast. I’m sure more are out there, but many people rarely talk about others. Thanks for mentioning them. I’d love to get your input on how critical a blog is, as opposed to just Facebook and Twitter, for the small business owner. While I work with big and small clients, I really struggle with telling a small business to have all three. I realize there are ramifications to putting your data on Facebook and assuming it will always be there, and I fully know you can push the data to Facebook and Twitter from the blog. But often I wonder if it isn’t better for a small business owner to write short snippets on Facebook, and upload videos to YouTube etc., rather than take the time to write on a blog regularly. Most business owners aren’t natural writers, and I think they’d embrace and be able to fit into their schedule tossing out little tips on Facebook and Twitter, and perhaps eventually add a blog, vs. assuming an actual blog must be part of the concoction at the outset.
Obviously it’s cheaper for them and easier to put all their efforts into using Facebook and Twitter, rather than all three effectively. I realize all businesses are different, and an overall strategy should come before the tools, but I’m sure you all have some general thoughts on this issue.
