Keith Burtis Consulting is officially launched!
Many of you here that read my blog regularly know that for the past few months I have been transitioning from my role as Social Media Community Manager for Best Buy Remix. It has been exciting and scary all at the same time. I was offered a few different jobs with different companies and opportunities to partner with others, but to be totally honest nothing really struck a chord with me. As time progressed I met some great folks, confided in mentors and talked with my wife. The result is that I have started my own consultancy that focuses on social media and digital marketing solutions for companies and organizations of all sizes. I have added Ryan Knapp as my General Manager and we are already in discussions with a few different organizations and talking about some really cool collaboration efforts with others.
I invite you to check out Keith Burtis Consulting. Of course any feedback would also be welcome as I am still refining my presentation. The first article I wrote at the new site is to really thank all of you for having supported me in my efforts throughout the past few years here at this blog and beyond. I really believe in the power of this new social web. We strive to make an impactful difference with any of the organizations I work with or any of the individuals that attend any of my talks. It’s an exciting time and I am looking forward to your feedback.

Congratulations Keith! I was wondering what the next step would be for you and this definitely seems like a smart move for someone of your experience…which you proved by bringing Ryan into the mix. You two can really do some great things and I’m excited to see how it develops.
Going to check out the new site now. I wish you the best of luck and of course, let me know if there’s any way I can help.

I’m a different kind of consultant, but I can relate to your excitment. It looks like it’s been a couple of weeks since your announcement so I hope all is going well although really not much time has passed.
One of the things I liked early on about consulting is being able to step out of the politics inherent in all companies of significant size. Obviously you have to worry about your renewal rates and such, but otherwise you can tell clients what they truly need to do to succeed without worrying so much about upsetting the status quo.
