Podcasting, What? How? Why? The

Bring Podcasting back to Podcamp

Today I was listening to the Canadian Podcast Buffet Podcast, one of my favorite shows of all time! The show is run by Mark Blevis and Bob Goyetche two guys I have got to know pretty well and can honestly call good friends. During the podcast Mark and Bob discussed a bit about how Podcamp has been evolving into a more marketing and PR focused event. Lots of podcamp newcomers are coming to learn how to LEVERAGE the new media channels and more sessions are focusing on those areas. The concern that many of us have is that social MEDIA is still MEDIA. It becomes hard to do anything in this space without a fundamental knowledge of how to create. Unfortunately, many folks are putting the cart before the horse. So I want to support the effort to bring Podcasting back to Podcamp. In this post, I hope to entertain you as well as educate you.

The Podcamp 5

Bob Goyetch talks in this article about the Podcamp 5. His theory is that for every Podcamp there should be a sort of 101 track. This track would help newbies become familiar with podcast content creation. I am going to break up his five headlines and add a video track or two under each one. If you don’t have the ability to go to a podcamp you can watch these videos and they should entertain you as well as inform you. A sort of 101 podcamp track in a blog post.
