The 2008 Whirlwind of Change
Tonight, I spent some time listening to Jim Turners Blog Talk radio Podcast where he talked about how 2008 brought massive shift and change for him. I have to agree that 2008 was also an absolute whirlwind of change for myself as well. I thought about doing a one year wrap up, but as I look back on the past year I feel it might be a bit much! Instead I would like to highlight my year and take this as a platform for future things to come.
This years highlights for me were:
- Getting Engaged! A snippet of how it started.
- Ramping up my Woodturning Blog at Magic Woodworks!
- Working on Dave Fleets Cancer Research Project
- Podcamp Toronto!
- Speaking at Podcamp Boston on Creativity and Social Media!
- JC Hutchins 7th Son Podio Book Series! And the way we reciprocated the love for each others creative work!
- Being Co-Founder of The Niagara on the Lake Social Media Meetup with John Meadows and Bill Deys!
- Focusing and achieving my goal of working full time in the social media space. I am the new Community Manager for Best Buy Remix!
- The many, many, many relationships that have spawned as a result of my activities in the social media space. If you are reading this you know who you are and I can’t thank you enough!
Slide of the YEAR! by Steve “Snowball” Saylor———————————————-
2009 is looking to me as being even more fun, more productive, and more exciting than 2008! I’m honestly not sure how that can happen, but getting married, ramping up two podcasts, working on the new Open API Project with Best Buy, going to SXSW, Podcamp Toronto, and looking forward to more great connections proves to be a pretty cool outlook.
Here is a Video that Quantifies the year!
I hope YOU are a big part of my 2009! Please leave YOUR Highlights for 2008 in the Comments!

So awesome Keith, you’ve made a huge impact in just one year. I’m so grateful that I could be even just a small part!
Getting published in a national magazine. I’ve been interviewed before, in national magazines, and I’ve been published, in member publications large and small, but this year I made the leap into Art Jewelry Magazine, a magazine you can buy at the bookstore!
Good to have met you this year. Looking forward to spiraling some of that energy into productive play!
Keith, I’m with Chris. You’re one of the most sincere, nicest people I’ve met in 2008. A genuine pleasure to get to know you; looking forward to extending that in 2009.
You are all amazing! Thank you for these wonderful comments. It delights me and always adds energy to my day! Thank you!

Dude! I made Slide of the Year! Woot! Haha thanks dude, 2008 has been awesome, and I’m glad that we actually got to meet this year. Looking forward to more opportunities for us to have some fun in 09!
